Q Originally titled “The Glass Ceiling”, a term describing women’s inability to move up the career ladder as easily as men, is now referred as the “Leadership Labyrinth. Northouse (2016) describes three explanation of why the labyrinth exists. The first explanation is the disproportion of women’s investment in human capital. Second explanation is gender differences and the third explanation is discrimination in the workplace. Research a current woman leader who holds a high level leadership position. Respond to the following questions: Describe the leadership role and the organization affiliation. Identify the challenges the leader faced in her rise to a high level position. Compare the challenges to the Leadership Labyrinth and describe how the leader overcame the challenges. As Sanberg (2010) shared her leadership journey, what Leadership Labyrinth did she experience? Based on your research of a current woman leader, what recommendations would you give women who desire to hold a high level leadership position?
